Sacramento, USA:  Anand Henry, an Indian-American former Meta engineer, has been implicated as a suspect in a harrowing murder-suicide case involving himself, his wife, and their four-year-old twins in California. The unsettling discovery unfolded in their $2.1 million Alameda de las Pulgas residence, where both Henry and his wife, Alice Priyanka Benziger, were found lifeless with gunshot wounds inside a bathroom on Monday.

A 9mm handgun, lawfully registered to Henry, was recovered on the bathroom floor, the same location where the bodies of the adults were discovered. The San Mateo Police Department released a statement on Thursday, asserting Anand Henry as the suspect based on collaborative investigations with the San Mateo County Crime Lab and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office.

Tragically, the bodies of their two children were found in a bedroom, yet showed no signs of trauma. While Benziger succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, Henry suffered from a single shot. The cause of death for the minor boys remains pending pathology, with authorities confirming they did not die from gunfire or display bodily trauma.

Police have ruled out any prior history of violence in the residence, and investigations into the motive for this heart-wrenching incident are ongoing. The authorities had responded to the home in 2020 after reports of a mountain lion in the yard.

Anand Henry, formerly a Software Engineering Manager at Meta and Google according to his LinkedIn profile, left Meta in June last year to establish his own artificial intelligence company, Logits. Court records indicate that he filed for divorce in December 2016 but did not follow through with the proceedings.
